Planet Zoo, the classic wildlife sim from Frontier Developments, has just announced the brand-new Oceania Pack DLC with a release date of September 19th, 2023. It will add over 200 new scenery pieces, five new animals, and another campaign scenario.
The new animals will include the North Island brown kiwi, Tasmanian devil, little penguin, quokka, and the spectacled flying fox. According to today’s trailer description, the new scenery is inspired by the Pacific region and focuses on “natural building materials”. The scenario will feature Bernie Goodwin and Emma, set on an island with the Goodwin Family Wildlife Park.
Planet Zoo originally launched in 2019 and is available now on PC. You can watch today’s trailer for the Oceania Pack on the game’s official YouTube channel:
Planet Zoo may have launched a while ago, but it has continued to roll out impressive DLC like the Arid Animal Pack from last June. And although that DLC included more animals to discover, today’s trailer really showcases how much effort the devs put into their scenery pieces.
There’s a terrific sense of culture in all of the decor, and the natural environment simply looks gorgeous, offering an equal share of personality.
So, although the campaign scenarios continue to feel a little thin, the new setting is certain to inspire lots of inventive decoration. At least the new scenario will concentrate on conservation, according to a new post on the official Steam page.
The Oceania Pack is just as distinct as previous DLC, and as always, the devs have reliably added some interesting and authentic new animals. The Tasmanian Devil was sort of an obligatory addition for this setting, but there are some really neat selections here. Their behavior looks spot on in today’s trailer, and reinforces how Planet Zoo continues to thrive so long after launch.
