Sony has just announced the next three games that will be added as part of the PlayStation Plus program, but this information also comes with some bad news. In the same blog post, the publisher states that the price of PlayStation Plus subscriptions will be increasing by $20 to $40 per year, starting on Sep. 6.

As stated in the announcement blog post for September’s free titles, these new subscription prices will increase more per tier, with the PlayStation Plus Essential increasing by $20, Extra by $35, and Premium by $40. This will only apply to yearly plans purchased on or after September 6, ahead of the holiday season, with those with yearly plans able to renew for the lower price until Nov. 6.

This is a considerable increase for the service that will impact every subscription across the world, with just the major currencies shown above. Sony even states that these prices are at a discounted rate compared to the monthly subscription price, which will seemingly be more than the one-third price increase shown in the yearly prices above.

Players will need to decide if they’re willing to pay the increased price before resubbing their yearly subscription due to these new prices.
