Pokémon Go has just confirmed the full details for its 7th Anniversary Party event, which is slated to begin on July 6th, 2023, at 10 AM local time. It will run through July 12th, 2023, at 8 PM, featuring a variety of raids, Wartortle and Blastoise wearing party hats, and more.
The complete details were listed in an official blog post today, but a promo image from a new tweet also summarizes the anticipated content:

Featuring Wartortle and Blastoise was fairly expected, since it ties in perfectly with the Squirtle community day that’s slated for July 9th.
Squirtle wearing a party hat will also be appearing more often in the wild. So, it’s important to note that today’s blog post confirms you can use the corresponding Squirtle candy to evolve them into the new Wartortle and Blastoise costumed versions. It’s a shame that July 8th is the day that will have the unique candy bonus, which would have made it much easier to reach Blastoise.
The two cosmetic additions are simple but fun, and it’s a surprise to see so many Gen 1 Pokémon featured for the seventh anniversary. The original Legendary birds are always welcome. But Pikachu wearing a cake hat is also expected to appear more frequently, which completes the festive feel.
The Wild Encounters are absolutely sprawling with starters, many of which could also be shiny. This is a far more compelling approach. Starters always hold a special place in fans’ hearts, so it could be argued as simple nostalgia bait. But it still properly celebrates the full breadth of the franchise.
The Field Research will follow suit. The full blog post mentions “Cyndaquil, Mudkip, and more” will be available encounters too.
