Pokémon Go, the hit augmented reality mobile game from Niantic, has finally confirmed previous leaks for June with an official roadmap. As usual, this includes the month’s Five-Star Raids, Mega Raids, Research Breakthrough, Events and hours.
The new Shadow Raids have been added, and June will feature Shadow Articuno every weekend, beginning on June 10th, 2023. Here is the new roadmap with full details, as revealed in the latest tweet in Pokémon Go’s feed:

Pokémon Go’s new season, “Hidden Gems”, begins on June 1st, 2023. The official YouTube channel also released a couple of new trailers today, teasing various events like next week’s Beach Week:
Shadow Raids were only just introduced last week, kicking off with fan favorite Mewtwo, so it should be a delight to see that Gen 1 will continue to be featured with the legendary Articuno. Also, the Five-Star raids will include all of the Lake Guardians, the legendary trio introduced in Sinnoh, which is a great selection.
Nihilego is also one of the more compelling and mysterious Pokémon, so a shiny version will surely interest players. As for the Mega Raids revealed today, it’s very likely that Mega Blaziken will turn out to be the currently hidden Pokémon. It would be strange for the game to omit just one of the Gen 3 starters.
However, any desirable raids are especially going to frustrate fans, as Niantic isn’t reversing their highly criticized changes to remote raids. Sadly, it’s common for Niantic to hold out until the true impact can be determined.
Casual fans are likely to overlook updates that are content-adjacent. But the issue does have a real impact, and serious players who are more likely to spend money have been setting the game aside.
