The stage is set for Pokémon Go‘s June 2023 Community Day, with Axew, the Tusk Pokémon, headlining the event on Saturday, June 10, 2023. This anticipated affair will span from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, providing trainers with an array of benefits and features that aim to enhance the overall gaming experience.

The Community Day event will augment Axew spawns, giving players ample opportunity to add this coveted Pokémon to their roster. Simultaneously, trainers can earn three times the usual catch XP and double the catch candy. Furthermore, there is a twofold chance to receive Candy XL when catching Pokémon.

Throughout the event duration, players can also enjoy other bonuses. These include three-hour incense and lures (excluding Daily Adventure Incense and Golden Lure Modules) and 50% reduced Stardust for trades. Notably, players can make one extra special trade on the day, raising the maximum limit to two.

Fans of the franchise can look forward to the featured attack, Breaking Swipe. Trainers can obtain a Haxorus with this charged dragon-type attack by evolving Fraxure (Axew’s evolution) either during the event or up to five hours after its conclusion. With 50 power in trainer battles and 35 power in gyms and raids, Breaking Swipe also ensures a reduction in the opponent’s attack.

Additionally, trainers can engage in a photo session with Axew via the game’s AR Photo feature. Snap an AR Photo during the event, and Axew may photobomb your picture.

Post Community Day, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time, trainers can take part in bonus four-star raid battles featuring Fraxure. Success in these raids will trigger more Axew appearances around the gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. However, trainers should note that only Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes can be used to join these raids, excluding Remote Raid Passes.

The Community Day event also offers June-themed Field Research tasks. By catching Axew, players can gain rewards such as additional Axew encounters, Stardust, Ultra Balls, and more. Moreover, for a price of US$1.00 or the equivalent in local currency, trainers can access the Axew Community Day-exclusive Special Research story, ‘Keeping Sharp’.

For those with an eye for the extraordinary, the event presents an increased chance of encountering Shiny Axew. Trainers lucky enough to spot these shiny Pokémon can add them to their collections.

Finally, event-themed stickers will be available for players. These can be obtained by spinning PokéStops, opening gifts, or purchasing them directly from the in-game shop.
