The forthcoming Solstice Horizons event in Pokemon Go is set to bring an array of creatures associated with both day and night for players to encounter. From June 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., until June 25, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time, trainers can find an increased frequency of certain Pokemon in the wild, alongside the exciting debut of Shiny Fomantis.

During the daytime, trainers will come across increased appearances of Ledyba, Murkrow, Solrock, Drifloon, Purrloin, Sewaddle, Cottonee, Petilil, and the previously unseen in Pokemon Go, Shiny Fomantis. For the lucky few, there might also be encounters with the Hisuian Sneasel.

The nightlife isn’t without its charms. As dusk falls, trainers will notice an uptick in appearances from Oddish, Spinarak, Misdreavus, Lunatone, Stunky, Venipede, Foongus, Phantump, and again, Fomantis. Sneasel makes an appearance for some fortunate trainers, with the possibility of its shiny version showing up as well.

Starry Skies, a new special research story featuring Cosmog, is also being introduced. It will be available to trainers level 5 and above, free of cost during the event. To re-encounter Cosmog, trainers can opt to go through the Starry Skies story a second time at a price of $5.00. Tickets to this second encounter can be purchased any time during the event.

To aid trainers, the Pokemon Go Web Store is offering an exclusive early access to a discounted Solstice Box two days before it’s made available in the in-game shop. This special bundle includes three Remote Raid Passes, nine Super Incubators, and nine Golden Razz Berries.

The Solstice Horizons event also introduces bonuses including double Stardust for catching Pokemon, and a guarantee that Lunatone and Solrock will appear in the wild, irrespective of location.

The event features a range of Pokemon appearing in one-star, three-star, and five-star raids, along with Mega Raids. Some of these include Sneasel, Hisuian Sneasel, Rockruff, Fomantis in one-star raids, Noctowl, Espeon, Umbreon, Staraptor in three-star raids, Nihilego in five-star raids, and Mega Sceptile in Mega Raids. There is also a chance to encounter shiny versions in these raids.

Solstice Horizons-themed Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges offer a chance to receive Stardust and encounters with Fomantis. Successful completion might even lead to the encounter of a Shiny Fomantis.

The event also sees the return of Team GO Rocket from June 21, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. to June 25, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time. The team will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons. Trainers will also face off against Giovanni and his Shadow Regirock, with a new Special Research story being available at the beginning of the event.

Additionally, Team GO Rocket has introduced new Shadow Pokémon like Shadow Alolan Geodude, Shadow Ledyba, Shadow Hitmontop, Shadow Glameow, and more. Some of these rescued Pokémon might even be shiny.

The event also features a Team GO Rocket takeover, during which Pokémon such as Larvitar, Absol, Skorupi, Sandile, Scraggy, Pawniard, Vullaby, Deino, Pancham, Skrelp, and Inkay will hatch from 12 km Eggs. This takeover event will mark the first time that trainers will have a chance to encounter Shiny Pancham in Pokémon GO.
