The digital Pokémon storage system, Pokémon HOME, will undergo an upgrade to version 3.0.0 is coming soon (This was corrected from May 23rd, 2023 as it was announced in error). With this update, the platform will support connectivity with Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, allowing players to move Pokémon between these games and Pokémon HOME. This update will open up a fresh horizon for players to interact with their favorite creatures, though the transferability is subject to the appearance of the Pokémon in the respective games. For instance, Dolliv from Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet would not be transferable to Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, or Pokémon Legends: Arceus, due to its absence in these games.

In light of the update, Pokémon HOME is offering a special gift to players: anyone transferring a Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet to Pokémon HOME for the first time will receive a Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly with Hidden Abilities as Mystery Gifts. These gifts, only claimable once per Pokémon HOME account, can be collected in the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME and used in Paldea.

Additionally, players will be able to transport the Roaming Form Gimmighoul from Pokémon GO into Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet via Pokémon HOME. For information on how to catch the Roaming Form Gimmighoul in Pokémon GO, and how to connect Pokémon GO to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, there are detailed instructions available.

The Version 3.0.0 update also brings additional features to the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME. One such feature is the ability to exchange Pokémon HOME Points for LP (League Points) to use in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The more Pokémon transferred to Pokémon HOME, the more items players can purchase in Paldea.

The Pokémon details page can also be changed to show information based on the games the Pokémon has been featured in. This means users can check data about a Pokémon from any game, even when viewing their Pokémon HOME Boxes without being connected to a game.

Lastly, when a Pokémon is transferred from Pokémon HOME into a linked game, the player has the ability to change the Pokémon’s known moves from a list of moves it has learned until that point. These moves, however, are restricted to those that can be learned in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
