Pokémon has announced that a new Pokémon Presents showcase is scheduled for August 8th, 2023, confirming recent rumors. The showcase is expected to include around 35 minutes of news and updates, beginning at 6 AM pacific time. Here’s the announcement tweet, which includes a brief teaser:
Exact details about the content have not been confirmed, but The Pokémon Company often does a good job of covering the full breadth of the franchise, from mobile games like Pokémon Go to the latest apps, shows, and upcoming live events. It would be nice to learn about some more cards coming to the Kanto-themed “151” expansion in the TCG.
It’s been just over a month since Pokémon Scarlet and Violet revealed a new trailer for the new DLC, but fans can probably expect more reveals from The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. It’s due to release soon in Fall 2023, and there plenty of more Pokémon that fans hope to see.
Pokémon Unite has also kept up a remarkable pace, recently adding Mewtwo and the Panic Parade mode, where players work together to protect Tinkaton. This is wrapping up soon, so there will likely be a new event coming up.
The next Pokémon Presents is surprisingly going to run a bit longer than previous showcases. This may be due to more attention on new titles, such as Detective Pikachu Returns, which announced a release date for October 6th, 2023.
The original game was a hit, and definitely renewed interest thanks to the film adaptation, which may have been a little divisive, but was certainly filled with fan service. The neon in today’s teaser might hint at classic noir, which could indicate a new trailer for Detective Pikachu Returns.
