Pokémon has just released the latest anticipated Pokémon Presents showcase today, which was first teased last week. It features key information about the World Championships, an upcoming animated series called Path to the Peak, the next Detective Pikachu sequel and more. You can watch today’s new Pokémon Presents on the official Pokémon YouTube channel:
2023 World Championships
Today’s showcase began with the World Championships, revealing exclusives like the promotional “Paradise Resort” TCG trainer card and an adorable, themed Pikachu that will only be sold at the on-site Pokémon Center. There will also be a variety of themed events in Yokohama, including photo ops, Pikachu Parades, and even a luxury Pokémon Trainer Cruise.
Pokémon Path to the Peak
Short animated series Pokémon Path to the Peak will premiere alongside the World Championships, and the first episode will also be available on YouTube on August 11th, 2023. It will bring the Trading Card Game to life, following Ava and her partner Pokémon Oddish as they try to rise to the top. Today’s showcase revealed a brief teaser.
Detective Pikachu Returns
A new trailer for Detective Pikachu Returns teases the upcoming mystery and a variety of characters, featuring some great narration from Pikachu. But surprisingly, the trailer has also confirmed that the game will officially release on October 6th, 2023.
Pokémon Horizons: The Series
A new trailer was revealed for Pokémon Horizons: The Series, which first premiered in Japan back in April. Since the trailer mentions it’s “coming soon”, this implies an English release date should be revealed soon. But today’s trailer was purely cinematic, and relatively short, so it doesn’t reveal much.
Pokémon Go
A new teaser for the upcoming live events was revealed, as well as the Global Go Fest set for August 26th, 2023. This year’s Go Fest will introduce Diancie and Mega Diancie. More importantly, it was confirmed that Paldea Pokémon will be added to the game beginning in September.
Pokémon Unite
Pokémon Unite recapped the known Panic Parade mode and Mewtwo addition, as well as the ongoing Prediction Event for the WCS 2023. A Prize Machine Event and a gift code for emblems were also revealed to commemorate Pokémon Unite’s 2nd anniversary.
Pokémon Masters EX
Pokémon Masters EX is officially adding Nemona and Pawmot from the Paldea region, alongside a new story event where Nemona will interact with trainers from other regions. They will also introduce the new sprint role. This update goes live today, and tomorrow players can battle against Nemona in a special event. On August 16th, Victor and Spectrier will be added with the new Field role.
Pokémon Cafe Remix
Pokémon Cafe Remix is finally adding Tatsugiri, which is a perfect fit. They’ll be available in the Curly, Droopy, and Stretchy forms. Completing their new event will allow you to select one of the forms to join your staff. Completing Order #4 will also grant players a free summer-themed Jigglypuff.
Nintendo Switch Online additions
Pokémon Trading Card Game, the classic Game Boy Color sim, is officially coming to Nintendo Switch Online. There couldn’t be a better time, now that Path to the Peak is on the way. Alongside the TCG sim, Pokémon Stadium 2 is also coming to Nintendo Switch Online today.
Pokémon Sleep
A “Good Sleep Day” event has been planned for the night of the full moon, where Snorlax’s Drowsy power will be stronger than normal. More details are expected to be revealed soon.
Pokémon: Paldean Winds
Pokémon: Paldean Winds, an original animated web series, was announced today with a new trailer. Fans can watch the new series streaming on the official Pokémon YouTube channel when it premieres on September 6th, 2023. It focuses on several academy students.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
In a new cinematic trailer, it’s been confirmed that Mew and Mewtwo are coming to both Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet until September 18th, 2023. A corresponding mystery gift code was released in today’s showcase to collect Mew. However, Mewtwo will appear in Tera Raid Events.
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero
New trailers featuring a variety of characters and Pokémon were revealed for both part 1, The Teal Mask, and part 2, The Indigo Disk, including many fan favorites and a wide range of new locations. This includes the reveal of Kitakami, teasing Pokémon like Kirlia, Corpish, the candy apple evolution Dipplin, and upcoming legendaries like Okidogi.
Traveling photographer Perrin will also encourage players to use new photography tools like the new Roto-Stick and more poses.
There were also many new details about Blueberry Academy, which features multiple biomes and a novel student life experience. This includes the League Club and BB League, where students battle each other, and they have their own Elite Four. At Blueberry Academy, flying is also unlocked for your trusty Koraidon or Miraidon.
The Teal Mask is now confirmed to be launching on September 13th, 2023, while The Indigo Disk is still set for a winter release.
