Today, Game Freak has announced the cancellation of the current 5-star and 7-star Tera Raid battles in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This decision comes in response to numerous reports of bugs encountered by players during these events.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet recently launched the 5-star Great Tusk and Iron Treads Spotlight Tera Raid, as well as the Chesnaught with the Mightiest Mark Tera Raid. These Tera Raid events were scheduled to run until May 21st, 2023, at 23:59 UTC. However, an error with the Raids was identified, causing the Great Tusk and Iron Treads Raids to attempt to call for a nonexistent Material item for these Pokémon. As a result, the game would become unresponsive online, leading to frustration among players.
In response to these technical issues, Game Freak has decided to temporarily suspend both the Great Tusk and Iron Treads Tera Raids as well as the 7-Star Chesnaught event. Ultimately, the developer has opted to cancel the entire weekend event in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, with plans to reschedule it for a later date.
The current Tera Raid events are particularly significant to players who missed last week’s event, as it offered them another chance to catch a 7-Star Chesnaught with a Rock Tera Type. Furthermore, the latest Spotlight Tera Raid Battles are supposed to provide an opportunity for players to capture two elusive 5-star Paradox Pokémon, Great Tusk and Iron Treads. However, due to the current circumstances, trainers will have to be patient and await the announcement of the rescheduled events.
Unfortunately, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have faced numerous technical issues since their release. While Game Freak remains committed to delivering a seamless and enjoyable experience for all trainers in the Paldea region, the continuous addition of new content has inevitably led to the occurrence of bugs and other issues. Hopefully, actions will be taken immediately to prevent such issues from arising in the future.
