A five-second clip, purportedly from a yet-to-be-announced Persona 3 remake, has emerged online, igniting fan speculation about its authenticity. The short video, which displays an animation of the game’s combat, has become the target of a lot of discussion online.

While Atlus and Sega have not commented on the clip’s legitimacy, the original uploader appears to have deleted their post. Nevertheless, the footage remained accessible long enough for fans to save it and meticulously analyze the details, attempting to determine whether it is genuine or an elaborate hoax.

A Twitter account, @AVtoGAMEnoYAMI, was seemingly created solely to circulate the Persona 3 remake clip and shared more gameplay clips from the same meeting, showcasing a variety of games Sega had under development at the time.

Interestingly, the video appears to provide a glimpse of the rumored Jet Set Radio revival. Last year, Bloomberg reported that new Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi games were in development, which aligns with the 2021 footage, potentially lending credibility to the video and the leaks in general. This correlation could be encouraging news for Persona 3 fans.

The Twitter account claims that the brief clip of Yukari was shown during a 2021 Sega internal meeting, alongside never-before-seen footage of a boss in Sonic Frontiers and a potential Jet Set Radio remaster. The footage could represent a tech demo of what Atlus is presenting to Sega regarding the potential quality of a current-generation Persona game, or it could be an early build of a Persona 3 remake.

It is essential to keep in mind that video game development can take four to seven years or longer, depending on the team. As such, early build footage may not necessarily have a polished appearance. Consequently, fans should not discount the possibility of the footage being genuine based solely on its “off” or “fanmade” appearance.
