PowerWash Simulator, last year’s surprise hit simulator from developer FuturLab and publisher Square Enix, has revealed a new trailer teasing Tomb Raider’s Croft Manor. The special pack crossover will launch on January 31st, 2023. Here’s the full trailer from PlayStation’s YouTube channel:

PowerWash Simulator gives players enough freedom to get creative with their gameplay, but it also succeeds as a simulation game. It’s both charming and unexpectedly relaxing, particularly with such a niche area.

Today’s trailer for a Tomb Raider collaboration might seem a little strange for some fans, but it’s actually a brilliant idea. That’s especially true for Tomb Raider, whose adventurous lifestyle certainly leads to high levels of filth, and Lara’s home is unusually large. As a result, it would realistically demand quite a lot of cleaning, so the DLC works for the context of both properties. It’s also very amusing.

Additionally, this special pack happens to open the floodgates to other properties from Square Enix, which would involve some massive IP, from Final Fantasy to Kingdom Hearts. There are more than a few locations from Square Enix’s vast library of games that would also need some deep cleaning.

For now, the Tomb Raider crossover looks fantastic. The manor has its classic look, and there are a variety of fine details for Lara’s vehicles and other assorted collections, too. The devs have clearly made the most of the property, and fans are already requesting various references from the extensive Tomb Raider series.

There’s no real limit to the inside baseball PowerWash Simulator could mine if it wanted to. Meanwhile, Crystal Dynamics announced last month that they would partner with Amazon Games to continue their highly successful Tomb Raider reboot, so the future looks bright for both properties.
