What’s Coming in Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 1: Operation Deadly Omen?

Rainbow Six Siege Operation Deadly Omen brings a major overhaul to the game. Shield wielding operators rejoice! You can now sprint with your shield up and even break through barricades. New animations make interacting with gadgets and throwing grenades smoother. However, taking fire while using a shield will slow you down and mess with your vision.

The update also tweaks weapon attachments and aiming. Expect it to take a little longer to aim down sights after moving around. New grip types offer bonuses to movement speed, recoil control, and reload speed.

Ranked players will also see some changes. Operation Deadly Omen introduces ranked restrictions to create a fairer experience. Returning players who haven’t played in a while will need to warm up with some wins before jumping back into ranked. New players will need to reach a certain level and acquire a minimum number of operators to unlock ranked mode.
