Red Dead Redemption and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare, are set to release on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 for the first time on August 17. This single package, which includes both games, will be brought to modern consoles in a conversion by Double Eleven Studios, offering compatibility with the PlayStation 5.
Red Dead Redemption, known for winning over 170 Game of the Year Awards, is a critically acclaimed game that takes players on a Western adventure, following former outlaw John Marston. The game’s plot unfolds across the vast landscapes of the American West and Mexico, where Marston seeks the last members of the Van der Linde Gang in order to save his family. Those who play this game will experience events that take place after Red Dead Redemption 2’s tale of honor and loyalty. Characters such as Bill Williamson, Javier Escuella, and former gang leader Dutch van der Linde are central to the story as the era of the cowboy draws to a close.
The package also includes Undead Nightmare, a notable expansion of Red Dead Redemption that brings a supernatural twist to the Western genre. In this eerie and mysterious story, Marston fights to survive against a relentless horde of zombies, searching for a cure in a world that has become unrecognizable.
Aside from these two single-player experiences, the package will also include support for new languages. For the first time, players will have access to Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Latin American Spanish.
The Nintendo Switch eShop and PlayStation Store will offer Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare at a price of $49.99. Physical releases of the games are planned for October 13.
