PlayStation and Capcom have officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake VR Mode. Scheduled to launch on December 8, the VR Mode will be available as free downloadable content for the base game on PlayStation 5, allowing players to experience the main story of the game using PlayStation VR2. Accompanying this announcement is a newly released trailer, providing a closer look at this immersive DLC.
As players once again step into the role of United States agent Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil 4 Remake VR mode, they will experience an unprecedented level of survival horror immersion as this free DLC harnesses the unique capabilities of the PlayStation VR2. This cutting-edge technology by SIE enhances the beloved survival horror title with stunning VR visuals and 3D audio for increased immersion.
Furthermore, PSVR2’s sense controllers offer distinct haptic feedback for each weapon in Resident Evil 4 Remake VR mode, whether it be a pistol, submachine gun, rifle, or combat knife. This results in a more visceral and engaging combat experience than ever before. Apart from the combat scenes, the VR Mode retains all the classic puzzle-solving gameplay elements in a virtual reality setting.
For those who have yet to acquire Resident Evil 4 Remake for PlayStation 5, Capcom has generously included a free VR Mode demo, playable without the main game. This demo allows fans to experience the start of the game and offers a glimpse into the immersive survival horror gameplay. The demo also features a shooting range where players can test the intuitive controls, from aiming and shooting to unique reload methods tailored for each weapon. Both the VR Mode DLC and the demo will be available on December 8.
