The PlayStation Store listing for the new open-world action-adventure game Rise of the Ronin now includes an FAQ section. This reveals a lot of details that haven’t been said in interviews or other places. It’s really cool but opens up more questions, as the game didn’t seem this accessible before.
Developed by Team Ninja from Koei Tecmo Games, Rise of the Ronin is set in late 19th-century Japan, a period marked by significant historical conflict and upheaval. Players assume the role of a Ronin, a masterless samurai, and engage in combat to make their mark in this turbulent time. The FAQ states that Rise of the Ronin will only be available on PlayStation 5 and not released on PlayStation 4.
One of the features that I could hardly believe when I saw was the character creation. Players will be able to customize their Ronin’s appearance. They can go into detail on facial features, body type, hairstyle, voice, and other details. Rise of the Ronin will also include online co-op multiplayer for those who enjoy playing games with friends. That’s another surprising addition. Up to four players can join forces to tackle the game’s main story missions together. It’s worth noting that the game will not have PvP combat, so it’s focused entirely on cooperative gameplay.
The FAQ explains the difficulty settings in Rise of the Ronin. Players have three preset options: Dawn (easy), Dusk (normal), and Twilight (hard). These settings can be adjusted at any time during the game. Dawn mode also allows further customization, letting players tweak elements like health recovery and Ki (stamina) usage to personalize their experience. The FAQ gives a lot of welcome surprises; honestly, the game sounds better the more we hear about it.
