British video game developer Facepunch Studios has announced a new initiative to strengthen and support content creators developing for their games. The Birmingham-based company, widely recognized for sandbox video game Garry’s Mod and survival game Rust, is currently working on Sandbox, a successor to Garry’s Mod. Now, in a bid to empower the creator community, they’ve unveiled the Facepunch Creators Program.
The program aims to facilitate and assist creators in developing outstanding content and nurturing their own communities. To this end, the program offers a host of benefits, designed to empower and engage creators more deeply in the Facepunch community.
Among the various support mechanisms that the Facepunch Creators Program brings are priority access to Facepunch events, complimentary Facepunch games and DLC, and the opportunity to take part in Twitch Drops events. Members will also gain access to an exclusive Facepunch Discord server, offering an intimate platform for interaction, collaboration, and networking.
Additionally, creators have the chance to be spotlighted in the Rust community blog, and to receive codes for giveaways, further enhancing their engagement with the player community. The program also opens the doors to possible collaborations with Facepunch’s partners and grants admin access to the Rust Staging partner server.
However, to ensure the quality of the content and the commitment of the creators, Facepunch has set certain eligibility criteria for the Creators Program. Creators must have a minimum of 50 or more concurrent viewers on livestreams for 30 days, or average 8,000 views on video content over the past 30 days with a subscriber count of 5,000 or more while playing Facepunch games.
Furthermore, Facepunch games should be an active part of the creator’s channel, and they must have consistently adhered to the company’s Terms of Service and Code of Conduct. The program requires creators to have an engaged, active audience they regularly interact with and a track record of creating content consistently for the past three months. Lastly, participants must be 16 years of age or older.
