Kojima Productions has previously announced that they are collaborating with Hollywood actress, Elle Fanning, on their next video game. The studio made the announcement of the collaboration as part of an extensive teaser campaign that had been running since the September 2022 Tokyo Game Show. During that time, the studio distributed a photograph with the caption “Who Am I?” under a face that was partially concealed by shadow. Eventually, a QR code at PAX Australia that leads to a Kojima Productions webpage showcasing a portrait of Elle Fanning with the text “Who am I?” answered fan speculations about the earlier teaser poster.
Just recently, Kojima Production updated its website with a new page featuring a portrait of Shioli Kutsuna. The Japanese-Australian actress is well-known for her roles as Yukio in Deadpool 2 and Mitsuki in the series Invasion, which airs on Apple TV+. The page features a portrait of Shioli Kutsuna with the text “A Hideo Kojima Game x Shioli Kitsuna” and “Where am I?” The portrait has the same style as the previous poster confirming Elle Fanning’s appearance in the studio’s next game.
Although there has been some speculation that the teaser may have been for a sequel to Death Stranding, it has not yet been confirmed whether or not this was the case. In addition, Kojima revealed that he was working on “a special partnership” with Xbox Game Studios for a completely new game that “no one has ever experienced or seen before.” This announcement was made during a livestream event held in June by Xbox and Bethesda Game Studios. Kojima has said that he and Kojima Productions are now in a position to develop this game thanks to “Microsoft’s cutting-edge cloud technology and the change in the industry’s trend.” In any case, more details about the next Kojima Productions game are expected to be revealed soon.
