Sifu, the massively popular third-person brawler from developer and publisher Sloclap, has just revealed an all-new trailer for its final title update. The trailer briefly wraps up previous updates, then breaks down all of the upcoming content.
Title Update 5 is expected to roll out in September 2023 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. A concrete release date hasn’t been confirmed yet. According to today’s trailer description, Title Update 5 will include 2 new outfits, an additional 75 challenges and more. It will also be released for free.
Sifu is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. You can watch today’s reveal teaser on the Sloclap YouTube channel:
Sifu has been praised for its incredible style, which adds a lot of impact and satisfaction in every fight. Also, the combat has controls that are largely intuitive but reward patience.
The devs have shown an extraordinary pace for this runaway indie hit, but adding nearly a hundred new challenges is truly remarkable. It’s notable that the basic gameplay loop is flexible and creative enough to accommodate that many challenges, especially when beat ’em ups often rely on simplicity.
It’s a relief that the final title update barely concentrates on cosmetics at all. In fact, even the new Arenas will be “story-inspired”, which is another way to reward longtime fans. Today’s trailer shows off some familiar and exciting areas.
The Arenas Update, which released last March, already introduced a variety of new maps. Although finding new ways to mangle enemies with mods has always been a highlight, exploring new Arenas for the action certainly stirs up your imagination. However, bug fixes, quality of life and other technical changes have not been specified for Title Update 5.
