Sifu’s Spring update is only a couple of days away, and as a warm-up, Sloclap revealed a new preview, this time showcasing a detailed look at the game’s new difficulty settings, set to debut as part of the free update.
According to the preview, which you can check out below, as well as to the game’s 2022 content roadmap, the available difficulties will be Student, Disciple, and Master, the latter of which is set to make the game more challenging than ever by adding new boss patterns, among other features.
What will each difficulty bring to the table?
As you can see from above, the game’s Student difficulty will be its ”easy mode” and is set to feature less aggressive AI, weaker enemies, and a more forgiving aging mechanic. For those looking to play the classic Sifu experience, the game’s Disciple setting will allow them to experience the game’s original level of difficulty.
The new Master difficulty, on the other hand, will feature more aggressive and tougher enemies. When playing on this difficulty, all of the game’s bosses will also make use of new moves during combat.

Apart from the new difficulty modes, the new update will also bring to the game both an advanced training feature and the debut of an outfit selection mechanic. With that said, as a bonus, on May 3rd, owners of the game’s Deluxe Edition will also receive a new and exclusive outfit, called The Young Man Suit, giving them the option to take on the game while dressed to impress.
Sifu’s Spring update is set to be followed by three free patches, set to debut in Winter, Summer, and Fall respectively.

You can currently play Sifu exclusively on PS4, PS5, and PC, via the Epic Games Store. You can check out all of our articles related to the title here.
