The Sonic fandom is always reliable as long as SEGA puts the time and love into each new title. There has been a lot of buzz around Sonic Superstars since it was announced earlier this summer, but now the release date has been leaked ahead of an official Gamescom announcement for October 17, in just under two months.
The leak comes from gaming journalist billbil-kun, who stated this information while correcting the date that had supposedly leaked from a Japanese website earlier today. According to them, there will soon be an official announcement at Gamescom at some point. The title is the first new side-scrolling Sonic title in a while, so many players are excited about exploring the classic feel in an updated world.
Many players are excited about the release of Sonic Superstars since it will also be the first title of its kind in the franchise to also offer co-op multiplayer. Up to four players can play iconic characters from the series together as they work together to take on the different threats and collect the treasure across a big adventure.
