South Park: Snow Day! is the third iteration in the “new kid” series for South Park. The new kid is called upon but the grand wizard Cartman to fight the elves once more. It looks like the game will return to its roots shown in South Park: The Stick of Truth, and scheduled for March 26th Release for PC & Console; check out how long you’ve got left to wait with our South Park Snow Day Countdown.

The gameplay trailer for South Park: Snow Day! looks like a third-person action game, where the players attack the elves, led by Stan and Kyle. The combat is actually really interesting since it takes it from turn-based to real-time. It looks like players get powers and can use a class system for fighting.

A lot of people, myself included, thought that this next South Park game would be an online multiplayer game. However, it looks like the game will still follow a single-player storyline but with the ability to play with others. During the trailer, Cartman lets us know that players can play with up to three friends or random people online. There was no split screen featured so there may not be a couch co-op game.

I am so happy to see the game go back to medieval times, albeit in a snowy period. This touches on a few things. For those old enough to remember, the first big South Park game was set during a snowy day and had models that looked a lot like these.

That never finished so in a way, this third game is an homage to the old game but also a continuation of the popular new saga. The art is the divisive part. It just doesn’t look very good, so it’s hard to get into it. It’s like models made back in the early 2000s but the developer had to base it on a simple-looking show so that’s a good reason.

We’ll see how South Park: Snow Day! is received but the gameplay trailer showcases a lot of combat and powers for you to check out.
