Star Wars Jedi: Survivor received an update today that focused on accessibility enhancements. Normally, this wouldn’t be much to glance at, but Patch 8 added features that let you make the game easier or harder depending on how you set a new slider for Slow Motion.
The update significantly enhances Slow Motion, a popular accessibility feature. Players can now toggle between their custom slow motion value and three new presets: 30%, 50%, and 75%. These are readily available through the shortcut menu. This gives players more freedom to essentially adjust the game. These are the kinds of things that are usually added to games through mods or console commands.

The image above shows how it looks on the menu. Here’s what each does:
- Slow Mode – Enable or disable slow motion by turning this on/off. You can manually trigger it via the Shortcut Menu with presets including custom, 30%, 50%, and 75%.
- Auto-Activated Slow Mode in Combat – Control whether Cal’s slow motion mode is automatically activated when he enters combat.
- Slow Dilation – Set the game’s speed using a slider while slow mode is active.
One of the cooler additions is the High Contrast Mode, which lets players desaturate the environment and highlight narrative and gameplay elements with specific colors, improving visual clarity. There’s also an audio ping functionality that enables players to echolocate nearby objects and interactable elements through passive and active pinging.
This is ultimately a way to help players who need the extra accessibility options. This makes the game clearer for vision as well as easier or harder since the slow motion can be increased or reduced if needed. Overall, Patch 8 is an incredible thing to add to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. It’s a bit late since the game came out a while ago, but it’s welcome nonetheless.
