In April 2023, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Dead Island 2 (which we reviewed and thought very highly of) soared to the top of the PlayStation 5 download charts in both the US/Canada and EU regions. Meanwhile, The Last of Us Part II claimed the number one spot on PlayStation 4 across both regions, possibly boosted by the popularity of its TV series adaptation.
Other notable titles in the top PS5 downloads included MLB The Show 23, Grand Theft Auto V, NBA 2K23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and FIFA 23. The charts also featured EA SPORTS PGA TOUR, Resident Evil 4, FAR CRY 6, WWE 2K23, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
For the PlayStation 4, the top downloaded games included Minecraft, NBA 2K23, Red Dead Redemption 2, MLB The Show 23, EA Sports UFC 4, FIFA 23, Gang Beasts, and Grand Theft Auto V. Additionally, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Dead Island 2, theHunter: Call of the Wild, ARK: Survival Evolved, and Batman: Arkham Knight made the charts.
In the realm of PlayStation VR 2, Creed: Rise to Glory led the charts, followed by The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution, Job Simulator, Kayak VR: Mirage, and The Dark Pictures: Switchback. For the original PSVR, Beat Saber took the top spot, with Job Simulator, SUPERHOT VR, Creed: Rise to Glory, and Astro Bot Rescue Mission following closely behind.
As for free-to-play games on both PS5 and PS4, Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 maintained their dominance, while Overwatch 2, Fall Guys, Apex Legends, Rocket League, The Sims 4, Genshin Impact, Destiny 2, and PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS also made the charts.
