Offworld Industries, partnering with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, has announced that Starship Troopers: Extermination will enter Early Access on May 17th. This period provides a unique opportunity for players to actively collaborate with the development team, offering feedback on features and mechanics. Offworld Industries aims to build on this input and expand the game’s content throughout Early Access. Excitingly, the game will feature 16-player action, a significant increase from the initially planned 12-player experience.
Upon release, the Early Access edition of Starship Troopers: Extermination will be available for $24.99 USD. This introductory price will rise as more content is added ahead of the full 1.0 launch. From day one, players can expect a combination of strategy and combat gameplay. They will have the ability to construct and reinforce bases of operations during downtime, providing a safe space for respawning, regrouping, and rearming before diving back into Bug-exterminating co-op play.

Set on the distant planet Valaka, players will join the Deep Space Vanguard, an elite Special Forces group within the Mobile Infantry, and engage in a relentless assault against the Arachnid threat. As a Trooper, players will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their comrades, armed with Morita Assault Rifles, and fight bloodthirsty insectoid aliens.
Teamwork is essential, with players working together to complete objectives, gather resources, build and defend bases, and ultimately reach the extraction point. The fight against the Arachnids will be intense, but the Deep Space Vanguard is prepared to reclaim humanity’s territory.
Key features include cooperative gameplay for up to 16 players, three playable classes (Assault, Support, and Defense), the ability to build defenses, a class progression system, and five unique Bug types at Early Access launch. Players will also encounter escalating infestation levels, large-scale battles across a massive map with five distinct zones, and a variety of side objectives.
To enhance communication, Starship Troopers: Extermination also features a ‘Ping’ system, allowing players to quickly call out points of interest, objectives, and incoming enemies to their teammates. This strategic element is key to ensuring a successful mission and keeping the Arachnid menace at bay.
