Capcom has just released the first big update for Dragon’s Dogma 2. Title Update 1.050 brings many quality-of-life improvements and includes graphics and performance options for console players. One of the most notable changes is the ability to start a new game even if you already have saved data. Originally, you would have to manually delete save data to start a new game, but this is now patched.

The latest update also addresses the controversial microtransaction feature in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Now, players have the option to buy up to 99 Art of Metamorphosis items from in-game Pawn Guilds. These items let players modify their character’s appearance but were limited in-game. They were purchasable with real-world currency when the game was first released, which rubbed many the wrong way.

PlayStation 5 players can now customize their game’s visuals with new options. They can toggle motion blur and ray tracing on or off, and there’s a new 30 FPS cap for potentially smoother performance. However, Capcom has clarified that these changes may not significantly improve frame rates, with potential improvements coming in future updates.

PC players are also in for some improvements with the latest update. The update tackles issues with DLSS quality and resolves a problem with how certain models were displayed under specific graphical settings.

Moreover, it includes fixes for various bugs and errors in text display. The Dragon’s Dogma 2 update will also allow players to get their own home in the game world earlier in the campaign. The addition to Xbox Series X|S is set to release in the next few days, but PlayStation and Steam players can already enjoy it.
