Steam Deck might be experiencing delivery delays, according to customers

Recent purchasers of the Steam Deck are seeing a message that has many worried that their orders have been delayed.

The Steam Deck is a revolutionary device that has captivated the minds of many who have dreamed of being able to play PC games on the go. While it has seemingly been a successful launch so far, there has been discussion of it feeling incomplete and in need of refinement. Whether that is the case or not, it hasn’t deterred many from purchasing the device, which was proven by it snagging the top selling spot on Steam last week.

Update: Looks like it was a false alarm according to a Valve employee posting on the Reddit thread:

Unfortunately, delivering the devices to all of the customers that have reserved them has been a relatively slow process. While they have just recently started shipping them out to people who were in the Q2 section of the line, it appears that things might have encountered delays.

A thread on Reddit has popped up describing these delays, which has occurred for customers who have recently ordered the product. It appears that many of the people in the thread had a message that said it would be shipping soon, to it being changed to “Shipping Status: Processing” along with these details:

Delivery delays are expected due to high order volume. We’ll ship your order as soon as we can and send you an email with tracking information once that happens.

As far as we’re aware, there has been no official word from Valve about any issues of shipping or processing yet. We hope that this is only a temporary setback and things will start running smoothly again, so there will be no further delays.
