Valve has officially unveiled a brand-new iteration of its handheld gaming PC, Steam Deck, featuring an OLED screen. The official announcement came out just half an hour ago when keen-eyed observers on ResetEra spotted this latest model on Gamespot’s RSS feed.

The new Steam Deck OLED model introduces a high dynamic range screen, a longer-lasting battery, and faster Wi-Fi, among other enhancements. This variant will hit the market on November 16th, available in two storage options—512GB priced at $549.00 and 1TB at $649.00.

In addition, Valve is also launching a Limited Edition of the Steam Deck OLED. This special edition will feature a different colorway specifically for the 1TB model. Valve clarified that the limited edition is considered an experimental product and will only be available in extremely limited quantities across the United States and Canada. Moreover, the 1TB models and the Limited Edition come with an exclusive case with a removable liner.

Steam Deck’s HDR OLED maintains a 1280 x 800 resolution but on a new 7.4″ diagonal display size, delivering impressive contrast, brilliant clarity, a broader spectrum of colors, and an amazing motion rendition. This model also features a 30% to 50% increase in battery life and an updated more efficient AMD APU.

The Steam Deck OLED is designed with Wi-Fi 6E, offering increased bandwidth and lower latency, resulting in up to three times faster downloads and stable online gameplay. This model also operates at cooler temperatures, thanks to an improved thermal system and a larger fan. Furthermore, Valve has made significant improvements to the touchscreen responsiveness, haptic feedback, and controller connectivity with the addition of a dedicated Bluetooth antenna in this new Steam Deck variant.

In light of the Steam Deck OLED’s launch, the price of the standard 64GB Steam Deck LCD model has been reduced from $399 to $349, offering fans a budget-friendly option.
