The Game Awards are back to honor several games that have been around over the year, as well as to reveal the release dates of upcoming titles. As promised, TGA will announce the release date for Street Fighter 6 and provide a sneak peek at four upcoming characters.
Street Fighter VI was first announced in February 2022, teasing the return of Ryu and Luke, the latter of whom debuted in Street Fighter V’s final “season” of downloadable content. Just a day before The Game Awards, Street Fighter VI’s release date was seemingly leaked on PlayStation Store with three editions – Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Edition.
Fresh off The Game Awards 2022, Street Fighter 6 was officially announced to launch on June 2, 2023, and is now available for pre-order. The Street Fighter Street Fighter 6 World Premier also gives another look at its World Tour itinerary, including the bustling Metro City, a beach in Jamaica, an arena in Italy, and a festival in France. Dee Jay, who first appeared in Super Street Fighter II, will return with three newcomers, Manon, Marisa, and JP, who will serve as the Masters of each World Itinerary. Players will also learn Special Moves from these Masters to incorporate into their avatar’s custom move set.
