Suicide Squad Delays Major Update To Prepare For Season 1 and Joker

There's an update that's here, but a bigger one for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is delayed so Rocksteady can prepare for what's to come.

Rocksteady Studios, the company behind Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has announced a new update. This updated handles many issues that have been happening recently to players. However, this has meant they’re waiting for another big update to prepare the game for the upcoming Season 1 content release and the Joker character.

The latest update mainly addressed the “Loading Metropolis” problem, causing long loading times for some players after finishing missions. The developer’s report says that this issue has been completely resolved. While players are looking forward to more bug fixes and gameplay enhancements, especially the anticipated Mutators changes, the next update will be delayed to prioritize getting ready for Season 1.

Season 1 is the main focus for Rocksteady at the moment. This update will introduce the villain Joker as a playable character, along with new gear, environments, and additional content. The next patch, originally planned for next week, is being postponed for thorough testing to ensure a smooth Season 1 rollout. This is really where the game sinks or swims.

“We’re aware that many of you are eagerly awaiting our next patch, for bug fixes and gameplay improvements, especially the Mutator changes. We’re excited to get those changes into the game, and we’re hard at work getting them ready. Our main focus right now is getting the whole game ready to receive our free Season 1 Update this month, which includes the new playable character Joker, as well as new gear, environments, and more. As a result we won’t be releasing a patch next week as we dedicate ourselves to testing fixes and making sure they’re ready for implementation.”

The issue is that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has been met with a lot of criticism. The latest update from the developers goes over the login, matchmaking, and Mastery progression issues as the main concerns for players at the moment. The team is working on finding solutions for the login and matchmaking problems that could be implemented without needing a full client-side patch. Additionally, they are looking into server enhancements to tackle lag during multiplayer sessions.

In other words, they’re trying to make an update that isn’t a complete rewash. It looks like it will take a lot more to fix this update than rewriting a few lines of code.

Regarding the Mastery progression, the latest update states that a fix has been applied to prevent new players from facing the bug affecting their progress. The developers are still looking into the reports of players who cannot advance through the Raising Hell tiers and are actively working on a solution.

The latest update also includes a new “Meta Tips” section featuring builds found by the community. One highlighted build utilizes Hack’s Infamy Set Bonus: A Force of Bionics, showing its impact on damage and survivability. Players are encouraged to craft their own strategies through experimentation.

This is clearly a huge effort from Rocksteady to try and save the game. If it does not do well after this bigger update, it’s safe to say that the studio will be in hot water. The story has been one of the biggest things players have pointed out as a bad part of the game, but since this focuses more on multiplayer, maybe it will work. I doubt it, but we’ll have to wait and see.
