In a recent development, Rocksteady announced the discovery of a “major unintended bug” affecting the leaderboard scores in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The bug has resulted in incorrectly scaling Burn status, leading to increased damage as Mastery levels increased. This unintended scaling up of Burn’s damage caused many to shoot up in the leaderboard, which must now be overhauled.

According to the developer, players began reaching Mastery Levels at an unprecedented rate during the postgame. This surpassed the initial expectations set by the team. This discovery was made public via the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Discord server. Rocksteady has assured the community that they are addressing the scaling bug and plans to introduce a new and corrected leaderboard once the fix is implemented.

The timeline for releasing this update remains unspecified, with Rocksteady’s community manager, Darroch Brown, only indicating that it will happen “soon.” Nevertheless, the current leaderboard will persist and will not be reset. Players will retain access to view their achievements on the existing leaderboard. Additionally, the forthcoming changes will not affect various player progress elements, such as Unlocked Mastery Levels, Finite Crisis rank, acquired gear, and Squad Levels.

This wouldn’t be such big news if it wasn’t for the awful launch Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League experienced. They had to shut down servers for early access at launch, and they’ve received a lot of hate for their storyline. It’s become a release that has effectively ruined the reputation the Arkham games built up.

It’s been days with this leaderboard issue, and there’s still no fix. So even when they eventually fix it, the community will have another reason to be against the developers. It’s got to be a really tough time as a Rocksteady developer, but maybe things will get better for the game eventually.
