Tchia, the open-world island adventure developed by Awaceb and published by Kepler Interactive, is finally coming to Steam next year, in March 2024. This exciting announcement was accompanied by a new trailer featured during the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted 2023 broadcast.
Tchia has enjoyed considerable success when it debuted on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and as an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC, with a remarkable 1 million players within the first six weeks of its March 21, 2023 launch. Finally, loyal Steam users will get to experience this vibrant, physics-based sandbox title starting next year.
Tchia invites players to explore a tropical paradise inspired by New Caledonia, a picturesque island in the Pacific Ocean and the homeland of Awaceb’s co-founders. Taking on the role of the young protagonist, Tchia, players embark on a thrilling adventure to rescue her father from the oppressive tyrant, Meavora, who rules the archipelago.
With a special ability allowing Tchia to take control of various animals and objects, the game provides players with a dynamic and physics-based sandbox experience. Featuring over 30 animals and hundreds of objects to choose from, players can fly around as a bird, explore the ocean as a fish, or dig for treasures as a dog.
As they navigate the vast archipelago, players will climb, glide, swim, sail their boat, and use the Tricks system to perform cool stunts and dives. Meanwhile, facing formidable enemies known as the Maano, which spawn from pieces of wood and fabric, players must improvise and strategically use all of Tchia’s abilities to overcome these encounters.
Beyond the action, Tchia offers players the opportunity to immerse themselves in the archipelago’s culture. Players may jam by themselves or play alongside other inhabitants of the archipelago with a fully playable ukulele. The game also presents a heartfelt adventure where players will meet an interesting diverse cast of characters by the rich cultures of New Caledonia.
