Awaceb has reported that their open-world island adventure game, Tchia, has garnered over 1 million players in just six weeks after its release on PlayStation consoles and PC. The game received critical acclaim upon launch, and to celebrate this achievement, Awaceb has released an accolades trailer and opened pre-orders for a new physical version of the game for PlayStation 4 and PS5, scheduled for release on July 18.
In collaboration with Maximum Games, Awaceb is offering a physical version of Tchia for PS4 and PS5, named the Oléti edition. This edition includes a cosmetic pack that features items and designs inspired by Kepler Interactive’s family of games, such as Sifu, Scorn, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, and Cat Quest. Players can customize Tchia’s boat, ukulele, glider, and outfit with these exclusive items. The physical Oléti edition is now available for pre-order from select retailers.
The game’s protagonist, a young adventurer named Tchia, embarks on a journey to rescue her father from the clutches of the oppressive ruler of the archipelago, Meavora. To defeat Meavora’s mindless minions, known as the Maano, players must use their creativity, along with mystical tools like soul-jumping and a magical ukulele. The game immerses players in a world inspired by the small island nation of New Caledonia, showcasing its unique landmarks, biomes, and the distinct culture of its inhabitants.
Tchia has been praised by critics for its charming, physics-based sandbox gameplay that encourages exploration and evokes a sense of childlike wonder. The game provides players with a breathtaking glimpse of a part of the world that many have never seen before.
Currently, Tchia is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
