Tekken 8, the next installment in the classic fighting franchise from Bandai Namco, has revealed a full gameplay trailer for Claudio Serafino. They were first confirmed for the upcoming roster in last month’s Closed Beta trailer.

Tekken 8 has not confirmed a release date yet. It will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Closed Network Test rolls out tomorrow. You can watch today’s new Claudio Serafino gameplay trailer on the Bandai Namco YouTube channel:

Claudio Serafino was only recently introduced in Tekken 7, and belongs to an ancient, secret society of exorcists. It’s a neat theme that’s on the supernatural side of Tekken, and Serafino’s attacks are filled with dazzling effects in today’s trailer. There seems to be more of a visual flair in Tekken 8, where magical properties look more detailed.

Fortunately, fans of the character will be pleased to see some returning moves, so mains can continue to use similar strategies. This includes Serafino’s ability to close the distance quickly, and kick opponents into the air, setting them up for combos. It’s still a little unclear if Claudio Serafino’s moves will be expanded, because they did tend to feel a little narrow in Tekken 7.

The dialogue in today’s trailer is also rewarding, with some nods to Serafino’s noble mission, and a strong voice performance that boasts as much gravitas as ever.

Tekken 8 has gradually rolled out an extensive series of character trailers, and the roster is shaping up to be pretty impressive. There’s a fine balance of old school favorites and the newer characters, so hopefully the devs can freshen up the former and fine-tune the latest additions.
