The Borderlands series has gained a wide audience due to its unique sense of humor and random loot mechanics to the point it’s getting a movie. The cast features some of the biggest names in Hollywood, so it’s expected to be a monumental release next year when Borderlands releases on August 9, 2024.

The cast of the Borderlands movie includes big industry names like Bobby Lee, Cate Blanchett, Jack Black, Jamie Lee Curtis, and many others. The screenplay was co-written with Eli Roth and Craig Mazin, the latter of which was the co-creator of the recently popular Last of Us series as well. The news of the release date was broken by Deadline after being announced at this year’s Comic Con.

The story will follow Lillith reluctantly returning to Pandora to find Atlas’s missing daughter. While on that journey she’ll form the classic group of herself, Roland, Tiny Tina, Krieg, Tannis, and Claptrap. They’ll fight the infamous bandits and more to protect the missing girl who may be the secret to an unknown power. The fate of the universe will be in their hands while they also try to fight for each other as well.

Borderlands has seen three main titles and spun off into a Dungeons & Dragons-inspired adventure called Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. This is the first time that the franchise has seen a movie or TV adaptation, and many fans of the franchise are excited to see the origin of their favorite group.

Fans will be able to see the movie in theaters when it releases on August 9, 2024, barring any delays.
