The Division Resurgence, the highly anticipated open world shooter from developer and publisher Ubisoft, has officially delayed the next test phase that was slated for August 8th, 2023, according to a new blog posted today.
The devs state that they have listened closely to fan feedback from the previous Regional Beta, and now aim to add more improvements for the next one. This would include an improved tutorial, player progression balancing, social features, and certain launch features.
As a result, adding these would “require some additional time”, according to today’s delay announcement. There is no new launch date for Phase 2 of the Regional Beta, nor any news on when fans will be updated next.

The Division Resurgence will be free to play and is currently expected to launch in Fall 2023. It will be available on mobile devices, including both iOS and Android.
The story will be set around the events of The Division 1 and 2, focused on the first wave of SHD agents. If you’re unfamiliar with the project, you can watch the official world introduction trailer from last December on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel:
While fans will surely be disappointed in today’s delay, there are some impressive new features ahead, so this wasn’t just for some light polishing. Getting the basics up to par will be important for the game to focus on broader testing, and it should also help improve general word of mouth.
The Division Resurgence has some pretty ambitious ideas, and it plays a central role in renewing interest for the future of the franchise. So, it might be worth the wait, but it does seem a little close to the established release window. Ideally, delaying the testing isn’t a signal that the game’s release will be similarly affected.
