The Division franchise has finally revealed the first trailer for its mobile title The Division Resurgence. While the release date still hasn’t been announced, it will be expected “soon” according to the new trailer.
Here’s the big reveal from The Division Resurgence’s official Twitter feed, which includes a link to register for the closed alpha:
The trailer includes actual game engine footage, and it begins by telling new players about the setting of the franchise. It also simplifies the purpose of Division agents, which is to save humanity after civilization collapsed.
The footage shows off the return of New York with some decent graphics, and the trailer concludes by introducing a dangerous enemy faction called “The Freemen”.
However, they “aren’t alone”, giving the game some freedom to elaborate on their mobile ideas. The official Twitter account later promised to add new factions and storylines:
The story will revolve around the first wave of SHD agents, and the game can be played solo or co-op. As it’s open-world, players can freely explore for story missions or broader world activities.
These are great incentives for beginners to join the franchise. However, it might be a little frustrating for longtime players to revisit so much familiar content, even if the narrative wanders into new territory.
The devs went on to tweet that the game will be free-to-play, so the game is going to be fueled by cosmetics, like so many other FTP shooters like Apex Legends Mobile.
For now, fans can still register to potentially participate in a closed alpha, meaning that nothing about the experience can be shared. Registration should continue to be available throughout the month of July 2022, according to an official tweet:
