The Last of Us Part I on PC has experienced a number of issues, but Naughty Dog remains committed to providing fixes and improvements to the game. The latest hotfix is now live, addressing a range of problems and making further enhancements.

Players using NVIDIA 30-series graphics cards are advised to update to the GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 531.58. NVIDIA states that the game may randomly crash during gameplay on GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs. More information about this update can be found on NVIDIA’s website.

The latest update for the game fixes several issues, including erroneous zero readings for Xbox controller stick inputs, improper selections when using the ‘Reset to Default’ function in the Graphics menu, performance impact issues when HUD performance monitors are enabled, crashes when toggling between Fullscreen and Windowed modes, memory crashes during the transition from the end of the game to the credits sequence, and game launch crashes. Additionally, developers have added extra crash report logs and a feature that prompts users to enable extra GPU diagnostic tools after a GPU-related crash (optional and only enabled for the current gameplay session).

Specific fixes in the update are as follows:

  • Fixed an issue causing erroneous zero readings for Xbox controller stick inputs
  • Fixed improper selections when using the ‘Reset to Default’ function in the Graphics menu
  • Fixed performance impact issues when HUD performance monitors are enabled
  • Fixed crashes occurring when toggling between Fullscreen and Windowed modes using [ALT+ENTER]
  • Fixed memory crashes during the transition from the end of the game to the credits sequence
  • Fixed game launch crashes
  • Added additional crash report logs for developer insight
  • Added a feature prompting users to enable extra GPU diagnostic tools after a GPU-related crash (optional and only enabled for the current gameplay session)

Naughty Dog and their partners at Iron Galaxy are closely monitoring player reports to inform future updates and patches. They are actively optimizing the game, working on stability, and planning additional fixes to be included in regular future updates.
