In the realm of Pokémon GO, the narrative of the game is about to take a significant turn. The Master Ball, touted as the highest-performing Poké Ball, is on the cusp of its debut in the game. The Master Ball guarantees success when used to catch any Pokémon, irrespective of where they are encountered—be it in the wild, via Lure Modules, post Raid Battles, or while employing your Daily Adventure Incense.

This potent tool will soon be accessible to all Trainers within Pokémon GO, opening up an array of strategic possibilities for its use.

As part of Season 10: Rising Heroes, a free Special Research initiative will be rolled out. This final story arc of the season is slated to kick-off on May 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The narrative will revolve around Willow unveiling Team GO Rocket’s latest strategies, complemented by a gift for the players.

The Special Research can be claimed until the culmination of Season 10: Rising Heroes on June 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The Trainers who manage to complete the research will be rewarded with a Master Ball, amongst other things.

The acquisition of a Master Ball, given its rarity and potency, is a noteworthy event. Trainers are encouraged to strategize wisely regarding its application, while also staying vigilant for future opportunities in Pokémon GO to secure more of these precious items.

The Master Ball carries with it a rich history from other Pokémon games. It is deemed the rarest and most potent Ball in all games, originally manufactured by Silph Co. in Saffron City. Its production was limited due to an incident where Team Rocket attempted to hijack the building and steal the Master Balls, leading to the discontinuation of the item altogether.

Traditionally, only one Master Ball can be found during the story in each game. However, starting from Generation II, additional Master Balls could be won, albeit very rarely, through the in-game Lottery if the player character possesses the exact number. More Master Balls could also be obtained by trading a Pokémon holding a Master Ball from a different game. It is even possible to amass up to 450 Master Balls without resorting to the use of a cheating device.
