Spy x Family has been one of the most anime series to release this Spring season. It’s enjoyable, funny, and has a well-written storyline that brings something unique and wholesome to the Shonen genre.

The theme song performers have done a fantastic job creating songs that perfectly fit the Spy x Family theme.

Official HIGE DANdism is a Japanese pop-rock band that formed in 2012. Their current members include Satoshi Fujihara (lead vocals, percussion, keyboards), Daisuke Ozasa (guitar, backing vocals), Makoto Narazaki (bass guitar, saxophone, backing vocals), and Masaki Matsuura (drums, percussion, backing vocals).

The opening song, “Mixed Peanuts,” is quirky, which has led to it receiving many mixed reviews.

However, on the official Spy x Family website, Official HIGE DANdism commented on the song and the feelings they wanted to imbue into it to fit Spy x Family.

The story that Anya likes peanuts has made me think that it’s okay to be astringent as a child. When I suddenly thought that peanuts were contained in the mixed nuts that I usually eat, I found that the nuts that grow from trees and the peanuts that grow under the ground, even though they look similar, are only peanuts. Although they look similar, they were classified as different types.

That is the theme of this work, that it is fun to play a fake family while hiding the identity and face something like a real family, and to yourself rather than whether it is genuine or not. I felt that if I had the happiness and joy of visiting, that would be all I needed, so I made it while thinking about the work.

Some of their other works include the opening songs for Tokyo Revengers and Hinomaruzumou.

Gen Hoshino Performed the Ending Song, “Comedy”

Gen Hoshino is a Japanese singer-songwriter and the former leader and guitarist of the instrumental band, Sakerock. On top of being a musician, he is also an actor and a comedian.

The ending song, “Comedian,” also has a wholesome story.

I received a message from the creator saying, “Family as the theme,” so I sang the image of my family while being aware of the family feeling of the story. I used to make a song called “Family Song” with the same theme, but I think that this song called “Comedy” made something completely different.

His other works include the opening song for Doraemon (2005) and voice acting Buddha in Saint☆Young Men (Movie).

Spy x Family’s theme songs are unique and enjoyable in their own ways. Be sure to check out our section on Spy x Family for more great content.
