The highly anticipated Castle Estate Kit for The Sims 4 is finally scheduled to arrive tomorrow, January 18, 2024. The community chose this kit in a May 2023 vote, and it brings the majesty of medieval architecture to your Sims’ world.

According to a blog post from EA, with the Castle Estate Kit, players can construct majestic fortresses complete with Gothic arches, grand entry doors, stackable ornate windows, and sweeping staircases. It’s clear why this would win in the vote because it comes with features like a large portcullis gate, parapet fences, and even llama gargoyles for a touch of whimsy.

The kit also boasts an array of detailed stonework textures and colorful stained glass options, allowing you to craft truly unique castles in a game that is pretty modern. I used to play The Sims 4, and I can definitely see how this one beat the futuristic one that was also a part of the vote. It’s hard to beat medieval fantasy, especially in this community. To be honest, this just shows me that EA can make a Sims Medieval 2 but is choosing not to. I know a lot of people want to see a sequel to that one.

This kit arrives alongside the Goth Galore Kit, another community-chosen favorite. This second kit has a collection of contemporary goth fashions featuring mesh, leather, and striking makeup. Platform shoes, sleek silhouettes, and edgy embellishments let your Sims express their individuality with a touch of gloom. It’s a unique addition and reminds me of the emo screamo and goth days of childhood.

Both Kits will be available for purchase on January 18 for the standard Kit price everywhere you can play The Sims 4. The Sims 4 base game is required to play these Kits, but it’s free in a lot of storefronts already.
