The Sims 4’s September 5th update introduces a range of enhancements and fixes to the game, affecting areas from Create-a-Sim and Build Mode to the Gallery and specific game packs. One significant update centers around the filter system in both Build Mode and Create-a-Sim. Previously, players could only filter by all Kits; now, individual Kits can be selected for a more refined search.

In addition to the filter expansion, the Gallery, a key feature where players can upload and share creations, also received updates. Fixes include eliminating duplicate items during scrolling and ensuring that reported comments in the Gallery go through the proper reporting system without affecting the entire upload’s visibility. The Gallery no longer requires maintenance downtime to release updates, allowing for more frequent and immediate implementation of features and bug fixes. A new section has been introduced in the release notes, called Gallery Server, detailing updates released in this manner.

When it comes to gameplay across various platforms, console players using a controller can now adjust Free Cam without altering the game’s speed. Pressing the left stick on the controller confirms the controls layout.

Among the multiple bug fixes, the update addresses several issues across different game packs and expansions. For instance, in City Living, Sims pursuing a career in book writing can now use mailboxes to submit their works for publication. This feature also extends to mailboxes in the Snowy Escape expansion. In the Growing Together pack, the update ensures that fundamental skills no longer reset after being maxed out, and multiple Sims can now play in the water together.

Musical track listings have also been corrected. A track previously listed as “corook by the artist sims” has been rectified to “sims by the artist corook.” Moreover, in the Realm of Magic, Morgyn Ember will now use their preferred pronouns “They/Them” in new game saves set to English. Other pack-specific adjustments include fixes in footwear tagging in My Wedding Stories and body frame fitting in the Simtimates Collection.
