The Stellar Blade demo is now available on the PlayStation Store, offering a sneak peek of the upcoming action-adventure game for PS5 players. Developed by Shift Up Corp., Stellar Blade brings what looks like Bayonetta mixed with Nier. Players take on the role of Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad, on a mission to reclaim Earth from the destructive forces of the Naytiba.
As announced on Twitter, the demo covers the first part of the game, leading players through a tutorial in the damaged city of Eidos 7. This initial experience will teach players the main combat mechanics of Stellar Blade, ending in an exciting boss fight that gives a taste of the challenges ahead. Players who want to keep playing after finishing the demo will be happy to know that they can transfer their save data to the full game when it comes out on April 26th, 2024, making for a smooth transition.
Hyung Tae Kim, the director of Stellar Blade, shared his excitement about the demo launch in a PlayStation Blog post. He invited players to immerse themselves in the game’s world and experience its unique qualities firsthand. The post spoke on the game’s 60fps combat and the integration of haptic feedback through the DualSense wireless controller, aiming to make every battle feel dynamic and immersive.
“The demo takes place from the very beginning of the game when Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad is sent to Earth on a mission to reclaim the planet from the Naytiba, up to the first boss fight. This first stage will include the tutorial phase to help you familiarize yourself with basic combat features as you explore post-war Eidos 7, a human city now infested by the Naytiba, giving you an early grasp of gameplay mechanics that will serve you throughout the game’s story.”
