Total War: Warhammer III, the epic action strategy game from developer Creative Assembly and publisher Sega, has just released an in-depth roadmap that spans from Summer 2023 to Spring 2024. The series of upcoming patches will include free legendary heroes, a variety of bug fixes and improvements, and more.
Total War: Warhammer III originally launched last year and is available now on PC. Here’s the big announcement from the official Total War Twitter feed:
Total War: Warhammer III has remained very consistent with its updates, adding some valuable new content. Despite a few rough patches of bugs, which have recently resulted in crashes, the devs seem to be supporting the game overall.
They’re certainly trying to convince fans of that by noting their plans for even more content past 2024 in today’s roadmap. To be fair, Total War: Warhammer III has also been Creative Assembly’s most ambitious title yet. The devs combined just about everything they could for their big finale, which was sure to have some hiccups.
The new roadmap itself is vague, focusing on release windows and broad terms instead of concrete dates or details. It does not signal what the devs are currently prioritizing and if they are listening to the fanbase. However, the official Total War: Warhammer III Steam page includes patch notes that elaborate on everything in closer detail.
This includes remarks from the devs, which state that they are actively listening to feedback. As an example, Patch 3.1 does have crashes in mind, and Update 4.0 will try to improve the AI some more. The AI has always been a point of contention among fans, given the scope of Total War: Warhammer III’s strategy.
