Recently at the Ubisoft Forward 2023 event, the publisher made an exciting announcement regarding the upcoming action-adventure title, Skull and Bones. Fans eager to embark on a thrilling naval journey will have the opportunity to participate in the closed beta test, scheduled to take place from August 25th to August 28th, 2023. This exclusive beta will be accessible to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC users.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft made headlines when it announced a delay in the release of Skull and Bones as part of its financial targets for 2023-24. The decision was motivated by the company’s commitment to delivering a meticulously polished and perfectly balanced gaming experience. Today, the publisher revealed that fans can now anticipate an exclusive beta test program, set to commence in August. This program aims to offer players a taste of the exciting world of Skull and Bones, while also allowing them to contribute valuable feedback for the game’s further improvements.
Developed by Ubisoft Singapore, Skull and Bones offers a tactical naval action experience within a vast open-world environment. As players set sail on their journey to becoming infamous pirates, they will navigate the treacherous waters of the Indian Ocean, exploring diverse regions from the African coasts to the East Indies. With a customizable ship, players will discover distinct regions, each with their own unique ecosystems. By completing contracts for various vendors, local factions, and kingpins, players will gain resources and unlock new opportunities.
To survive the treacherous waters, players must skillfully utilize the wind, trimming their sails to maximize speed and navigate rogue waves and deadly wildlife. Players will also engage in thrilling naval battles for the biggest prize. Players can equip their vessels with a wide range of powerful weapons and armor, outmaneuvering rival ships, laying siege to settlements, and launching devastating assaults on enemy forts. Skull and Bones allow for both solo and cooperative gameplay, providing the choice to forge alliances or rivalries with friends.
Interested players can now register for the closed beta test program on the official Skull and Bones website.
