Shrines are a major part of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as they help Link understand and practice his abilities, earn Light of Blessings, and so on. They function as puzzles, though, so it may not be immediately obvious what you need to do to complete a Shrine, especially later in the game. If you need help on finding the Ukouh Shrine Location and how to complete the Ukouh Shrine puzzles in Tears of the Kingdom, we have a detailed guide for you!
Ukouh Shrine Location
The Ukouh Shrine is located slightly west of the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island. On the outside of a Shrine, you’ll see a green, circular symbol with a handprint in the center, which you can approach and Link will touch with his hand to activate and reveal a circular, blue symbol on the ground nearby to mark the Shrine. You’ll then be able to walk through a glowing green door into the Shrine. The Ukouh Shrine is described as “The Ability to Create.”

Ukouh Shrine Walkthrough
There are three rooms in the Ukouh Shrine that you’ll have to puzzle your way through using Link’s Ultrahand ability, which is described as the ability to “grab and move objects, rotate them, and stick them to other objects.” To use the Ultrahand ability, you’ll press L to activate it for Link’s right hand.

Ukouh Shrine Puzzle #1
To complete Ukouh Shrine’s first puzzle, you’ll need to activate the Ultrahand ability by pressing L and then pressing the A button to grab a stone slab that you’ll encounter immediately on your right. You’ll then grab and move this stone slab to create a bridge that will let you walk across it into the next puzzle room.
Ukouh Shrine Puzzle #2
You’ll need to repeat the process to get from the second room to the third room by again pressing L to activate the Ultrahand ability and then pressing A to grab a long, stone slab that is leaning against the wall and attach it to the stone slab laying on the floor nearby.
Finally, you’ll grab the connected slabs, press R to rotate them so that they’ll create a bridge between the two platforms so that you can cross into the third room. Don’t forget to snag the chest that you’ll find just in front, up on a pillar, by grabbing the bridge you just created and moving it to act as a ramp to the chest.
Ukouh Shrine Puzzle #3
In the third room, you’ll need to create a moving platform to get you across the pipe that connects the third room to the end of the Shrine. To do this, you’ll look for a set of wooden planks against the westward wall, and you’ll want to grab and move it so that it sits flat on the floor. Then, you’ll grab and rotate one of the large, metal hooks on the ground and attach it to the top side of the wooden planks.

Once attached, you can grab your makeshift platform and hook it onto the pipe, then use gravity to slide to the end of the Shrine. Once across, examine the Shrine by pressing A to complete and earn your Light of Blessing.
As you work through completing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll discover an immense number of Shrines! For example, Great Sky Island contains the first four Shrines you’ll encounter, and they’re all necessary to complete in order to understand Link’s abilities. Each Shrine functions like a puzzle, where you’ll need to figure out how to get from room to the next before getting to the end of the Shrine, where you’ll approach the circular, glowing green symbol and will then receive a Light of Blessing.

You can receive one Light of Blessing for each Shrine you complete, and for every four Shrines completed, Link can upgrade his Hearts (up to 30 Hearts) of Stamina (up to three wheels) to level up. The game describes a Light of Blessing as “a crystal that glows with a light that purges ancient evil and purifies with its radiance.”
We hope this detailed walkthrough has helped you complete the Ukouh Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and given you another Light of Blessing! Check out more of our Tears of the Kingdom coverage.
