The Block All Cookies puzzle just doesn’t make sense to me, I fail to understand the logic of the cutesy * clue/answers, which other than allowing for the insertion of more than one extraneous letter into, seems to have no rhyme or reason. Usually i can work around similar add-ins, but this puzzle makes no sense to me.

A tough one for sure. The across cookies contain names of cookies “NEWTON”, “MILANO”, “SAMOA” and “OREO”. So to ‘block all cookies’ anytime a down intersects with a cookie name, you ignore the letter and move on to the next. I hope that helps clear things up.
