Nintendo has revealed plans to host a Direct on June 21 at 7am PT / 3pm UK time, intending to shed light on Nintendo Switch games releasing in the course of 2023. The livestream, anticipated to run approximately 40 minutes, will offer key information on these forthcoming releases, including further details on the much-anticipated Pikmin 4.
This will be the third Nintendo Direct to occur this year and the second to primarily concentrate on games being introduced to the Nintendo Switch. In February, the first Nintendo Direct of the year brought attention to releases planned for the initial half of the year, a roster including titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. In contrast, the Nintendo Direct held in March 2023 pivoted its focus towards the Super Mario Bros. movie.
For the remaining months of 2023, Nintendo has a select number of releases planned, such as Everybody 1-2 Switch slated for a June 30 release, Pikmin 4 in July, and the first installment of the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, with Part 1: The Teal Mask set to launch this fall. Nintendo, in May, halted speculation regarding new hardware, including the rumored Switch Pro, affirming that the successor to the current Switch wouldn’t make its debut until at least April 2024.
As part of this upcoming Direct, the community may gain clarity on the swirling rumors regarding a potential remake of Chrono Trigger.
