The rollout of Vampire Survivors Patch 1.5.0 has arrived, and introduces a multitude of fresh features and content. Foremost among these is the Astral Stair level, replete with flying paintings and a gameshow-style spinning wheel generating random events. The patch also brings to the table the GoldFinger pick-up, three new relics, a new game mode, new achievements, a novel character transformation, and more.
The Astral Stair level, once unlocked by reaching Level 80 in the Inverse Inlaid Library, proves initially disorienting due to its seemingly infinite loops. However, it soon becomes clear that it is actually a single expansive map with a deceptively straightforward layout. This new terrain allows players to navigate through its different rooms using teleporters. The Astral Stair level is further differentiated by its enemies that shift colors in sync with the music’s rhythm, becoming vulnerable only to weapons of their current color. Unique boss enemies known as Cosmic Eggs add to the level’s challenges by casting the Infinite Corridor ability, potentially halving a player’s health with each cast.

In the Astral Stair level, players can locate two key relics, the Chaos Rosalia and the Trisection. The Chaos Rosalia allows the character Yatta Cavallo to morph upon reaching Level 80, bestowing a minor stats boost and an evolved Cherry Bomb weapon named Yatta Daikarin. This evolved weapon continues to hurl bombs while also generating exploding “constellations” around the character, the damage dealt being contingent on the player’s luck stat.
The Trisection relic introduces the ‘Randomize Minute Events’ game mode. Here, a spinning wheel in the screen’s bottom right corner initiates special events every minute. The outcome, favorable or otherwise, is dictated by the character’s Luck stat. This game mode is active by default in the Astral Stair level until the Trisection relic is secured, post which players can choose to enable or disable this mode in any stage. However, it’s important to note that this mode is not compatible with the PC Twitch mode, as they essentially perform the same function.
Additionally, the 1.5.0 Patch incorporates the new GoldFinger pick-up, which initiates a brief special event. During this period, the character becomes invincible and more potent for a set duration, with a counter tracking the number of enemies defeated. At the end of the invincibility period, players are rewarded with a score and a prize. The tiers for these prizes range from Bronze to Cosmic, each with specific thresholds and rewards. After the Trisection has been located, there’s a marginal possibility for the GoldFinger pickup to be dropped in most stages.
This patch also incorporates six new achievements, two of which are tied to the DLCs, as well as a new challenge stage. It further provides three new relics that unveil additional game modes, character transformations, and a map.
