The PlayStation VR2 has been regarded as one of the most advanced virtual reality headsets yet, with a whole range of titles coming from other platforms, but few exclusives. However, Synapse has released today exclusively for the PSVR2, allowing players to take on this shooter with unique powers.
As the title suggests, you will invade the minds of a known enemy of the state and fight against the “twisted” enemies that their mind has created to stop you. The gameplay in the teaser trailer below largely shows pretty standard VR shooting mechanics in addition to some interesting telekinesis and an area-of-effect attack.
The key to players’ success will be harnessing their weapons and telekinetic abilities to best the constant enemies spawning from the twisted parts of this person’s mind. The guns and the world seem to be pretty responsive in Synapse, taking advantage of the advancements in tech and visuals. While the world is largely gray, bright colors can be seen when the player uses their telekinetic abilities.
As previously stated, Synapse is one of the few PSVR2 exclusives, joining the ranks of Horizon Call of the Mountain and Gran Turismo 7 VR. While this doesn’t look like an advanced title, it’s likely to provide some extra value and playtime to those who already own the headset and are looking for more content to engage with.
Players can pick up Synapse for $35 dollars plus tax and it’s available in the PlayStation Store today. The game is being published by known VR publisher nDreams, the same company behind PowerWash Simulator VR, Little Cities, Far Cry VR, and more.
